Single Hinged Expansion Joint

Single hinged expansion joints consist of one bellow with pipe ends or flanges.  This type of expansion joint can only accept angular movements – although they are limited to angulate in a single plane.  Single hinge expansion joints come with flat hinges and a pin; these absorb pressure loads created by internal pressure, therefore the pipeline does not require strong anchors.  If there is large movement in the pipeline due to high pressure, two or more single hinged expansion joints can be installed to accommodate larger movement.
